Hair Shots: From this Past Weekend
This past weekend while in Florida, I rocked a braid-out done on dry hair. I simply took down my cornrows, finger detangled, and re-braided using Jamaican Mango Lime. I didn't keep my hair out for long and re-braided it on Sunday night.

Hair Plans for the Weekend
Hey, ladies. This weekend I'm taking it easy and will keep the twists in for another week. I will continue to moisturize and oil my hair each day but, other than that nothing major planned.
That is the beauty of twists. Once you have them in you don't have to think up a new style or re-style for a while. It's like a mini break.
Well, that's it.
Have a great, safe, and blessed weekend. I love you all!

Weekend Hair Plans
This weekend I plan on styling my hair in some sort of cornrow updo/pin-up. But, don't hold me to that because I also would like some two-strand twists. Pretty much I want a protective style.
So, I think I am going to finger detangle my hair and moisturize it. I don't think I am going to wash it because I usually wash my hair every 2 weeks when rocking protective styles. (Check out my natural hair regimen in the tab above)
OAN: I am so looking forward to this weekend!! I finally moved out of my old apartment and back to my parent's place :-/ Times were hard and circumstances occured. Yet, through it all I'm blessed. I plan on filming whatever hairstyle I come up with but, this is proving to be a little difficult. I am trying to find the best location in my parent's house for filming. I have to take in consideration lighting, comfort, etc. I will still try to get that video out for you guys.
Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day, ladies!! I love you all :-)

A Great Weekend
This past weekend, my family and I went to Atlanta to see my sister, Auset, in her Spring Concert with the Jazz Ensemble. It was a really great day! We first went to a Carribbean Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant for her birthday. Then, we went thrfting. I purchased two new skirts. After that we briefly experienced the Health Fair that was going on. Auset then had her soundcheck so, we sat in. After the soundcheck she changed for the concert and then, we went to some of the pageant for the school. Most of all, I really enjoyed the concert. It was so great! My sister is really talented!! And the ensemble did a wonderful job. Below are some pics for the weekend.
A brief description of me and my sisters' hair. Alison just recently did another big chop. So she is rocking her TWA. Auset is wearing a wash n' go done with Shea Moisture I believe. And my hair is on Day 6 and it is rather big because there was a drizzle/mist the day before.
Some hair shots of Auset.

New Hair Day!

So, I finally decided to officially change my hair day from Sunday to Friday. Initially, I was debating between Friday and Saturday but, I made my final choice for Friday. And even though I go to prayer on Fridays I figured I should be back home no later that 8:30 p.m. and that should be enough time to start doing my hair. Then, if I go shopping or run any errands on Saturday I will just wear a head wrap, a beanie, etc.
So, why Friday? I chose Friday because that day would allow for my hair to fully air dry. Also, I could take the braids or twists out if I'm wearing "out" styles that Sunday morning and then, I would have an idea of how my hair would look for the week.
I must admit that I am kinda excited about this new hair day. Its different. The only con--which is not that major--is that now my hair will be covered on Saturdays and not out. But, its a good thing I learned how to do head wraps this week:-)
Here are my plans (I really am hesitant to post my plans because they may fall through, however; these are my plans if the Lord wills):
1. Co-wash my hair tonight using a conditioner (duh. but, I don't know which conditioner as of yet)
2. Oil rinse using 50:50 mixture of Castor oil and EVOO.
3. Apply a conditioner as a leave-in (not sure which conditioner I will be using)
4. Do a center part and do a chunky braid-out (nothing new about this hairstyle)
5. Allow hair to fully air dry over Friday and Saturday
6. Take braids out on Sunday morning.

Weekend Hair Plans = Fail

Why do I even try to plan out what I am going to do with my hair? It never works out. In the previous post I explained that I wanted to try the chunky twist out but, this did not happen. First off, I was running behind schedule on the time that I planned on doing my hair. I took the twists out and that was the only thing I achieved. Then I just thought to myself, I'm not going to even try this style because my hair is not going to be dry. I'll do it tomorrow.
However, tomorrow came and went and I still did absolutely nothing with my hair.
So, the style I have been rocking this entire weekend and today is a pin-up with some hair out. All I did was pinned the back of my hair up and left some of the front out. I mean I like the style but, I need to do my hair also. It is in dire need of co-washing and detangling. I want to say that I will do this tonight but, everytime I make plans then they just fall through. So, I will just say that I will get to it...eventually.

Weekend Hair Plans

It's Homecoming!!!
So, here's my plans for the weekend:
1. Take down this set of twists in my hair.
2. Co-wash my hair with Suave Coconut Naturals.
3. Detangle.
4. Deep condition.
5. Put in chunky twists.
6. Take twists out once fully dry for a twist out.
I plan on doing all of this tonight. Now, I won't be able to start until about 8:30 PM because that's around the time I will be out of church. I'm praying my hair will be fully dried by 9:00 AM Saturday for the parade:/

Weekend Hair Plans

So...this weekend I have nothing planned for my hair. I plan on keeping this set of twists in my hair for 2 weeks and I just finished week 1. I don't even think I am going to re-curl my hair on the sponge rollers because I am really feeling the twist updos. Of course I will stick to my regimen of oiling my hair and scalp but, that's about it. I love the low maintenance of protective styles:-)
So my plans for the weekend are:
1. Chill, relax, and enjoy it!

Weekend Hair Plans

Okey doke. It's that time again. What do I plan on doing with my hair this weekend???
Here goes:
1. On Sunday, I plan on taking out the twists that are currently in my head. Sunday will be 2 weeks that they were in.
2. I plan on shampooing, conditioning, detangling, etc.
3. I also plan on applying a honey mixture for my deep condition.
4. Next, I plan on putting a new set of twists into my hair.
5. I will then set the ends of the twists on sponge rollers.
6. That Monday morning, I will rock a fresh curly twist updo.
Sounds simple enough.

Weekend Hair Plans

So, this weekend I know that I want to try something new with my hair. I have had the kinda French braids for 2 weeks now--first with the pompadour and then without. It usually takes about 2 weeks for me to get so tired of a hairstyle. The only style I can wear over a longer period of time is the twist-outs.
Here are a couple of things I plan on doing with my hair:
1. Co-wash with Suave Coconut Naturals
2. Deep condition
3. I want to do a twist updo but, this time I want to leave some of the twists out for a side bang.
4. Or I want to try a braid updo. I saw a gorgeous one on Naturally Obsessed that really inspired me.
5. Or I want to try cornrowing most of my hair around most of the perimeter of my head and doing a twist-out side bang. (I saw this hairstyle on a girl and I thought it was cute.)
6. I also plan on detangling my hair after deep conditioning it. This time instead of clipping the detangle hair out of the way I am going to twist the detangled sections temporarily.
7. Also, I have been contemplating changing my hair day to Saturday instead of Sunday. This way, my hair will be fresh for church and I get to see how it turned out before the work week starts.
I am really excited about trying some new things with my hair. I hope that they turn out pleasing. I'll update you on how it goes:-)
